What is alnothrin and what is it used for?
Alnutrin is a feed supplement specially developed for cats fed a raw diet (BARF). It complements raw meat with all the essential vitamins and minerals, ensuring your cat gets optimal nutrition.
What ingredients are contained in Alnutrin?
The formulation of our 2 products contains, among other things, egg yolk powder, taurine, vitamins (e.g. D3, E, B-complex) and minerals such as zinc, iron and copper. Why does my cat need a supplement when I feed it a raw diet?
Plain meat does not contain all the nutrients cats need. Alnutrin provides taurine, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements in the right amounts according to FEDIAF and AAFCO standards – for a balanced diet. Raw meat + Alnutrin Calcium = the perfect meal for a long and healthy cat life
Is Alnutrin suitable for all cats?
Yes, for healthy adult cats. For kittens, pregnant cats, or chronically ill animals, you should coordinate the dosage with the veterinarian.

How is Alnutrin dosed?
You add 15 g of Alnutrin Complete +Calcium to 1,000 g of meat + 30 g of liver + 250 g of water. You can find the exact dosage instructions on every package and on the respective product page.
How do I mix Alnutrin into the meat?
Simply mix the powder with water (to help your cat get enough fluids) and mix it under the raw meat. This ensures the nutrients are evenly distributed.
Does Alnutrin contain sugar or artificial additives?
No. Our recipe is free from sugar, artificial colors, flavor enhancers, or preservatives.
Does Alnutrin need to be stored in the refrigerator?
We recommend storing it in the refrigerator. Only then can we guarantee that the powder will not change in consistency, nutrient content, or taste. It is especially important that it is tightly sealed. Otherwise, a cool, dry, dark place is also sufficient.
Do you also ship outside Germany?

Do I need to give taurine additionally?
No, the recipe already contains enough taurine to meet your cat's daily requirements.

How long does shipping take?
We generally deliver within 2–3 business days throughout Germany. Within the EU, delivery times depend on the respective shipping carrier in the destination country.
Where is Alnutrin manufactured?
Alnutrin is manufactured in Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Bavaria, Germany, to the highest quality standards and is regularly tested in the laboratory. The individual ingredients come from Europe (e.g. Germany, the Netherlands...), Japan and the USA.
Is Alnutrin gluten-free?
Yes, our recipe contains no grain or fillers – perfect for sensitive cats.
Why is no vitamin A added to Alnutrin?
It is difficult to add vitamin A because it is an oily substance. Cats rely exclusively on preformed vitamin A from animal sources, and beta-carotene (vitamin A from plant sources) cannot be used as a substitute. Preformed vitamin A is sensitive to light and heat and can be very easily overdosed, which can lead to acute or chronic toxicity. Therefore, we recommend feeding meat and liver together with Alnutrin. Liver contains many natural, essential nutrients such as vitamin A, biotin, choline, and folic acid.
Is Alnutrin also available without iodine or vitamin D3?
We currently offer the standard recipe. If your cat has special needs, please speak with your veterinarian.
Can I also use Alnutrin for dogs?
No, Alnutrin is specially formulated to meet the nutritional needs of cats and is not suitable for dogs. However, we do not rule out developing Alnutrin for dogs by 2027.

What should I do if my cat doesn't eat the food?
Alnutrin was developed for picky cats. Introduce the BARF food slowly, mixing it with their usual food at first and gradually increasing the proportion. Cats rely much more on their sense of smell than taste. Alnutrin is odorless and therefore highly accepted.
Can I return Alnutrin?
You can return unopened packages within 14 days. You bear the return shipping costs.
How long does Alnutrin last?
Unopened packages are shelf-stable for 18 months when stored in the refrigerator. After opening, store in a cool, dry, and above all airtight place and consume within 3 months. You can find the best-before date on the back of the package.
Is Alnutrin sustainably packaged?

How much does BARFen with alnutrin cost compared to ready-made food?
That depends heavily on which meat you use as the base for your cat's raw feeding. The biggest advantage of BARFing is: full control over the ingredients.
Can I use Alnutrin with ready-made BARF meat from a retailer?
Yes, just make sure that the meat does not contain additional supplements to avoid oversupply.
Can I mix Alnutrin into conventional ready-made feed?
No. Complete feeds contain many nutrients and additives.
How many meals can I prepare with one package?
A 150 g pack of Alnutrin Complete + Calcium or a 90 g pack of Alnutrin for meat and bones is enough for over 13 kg of finished food (a mixture of meat, liver, and water). This is approximately 13 weeks' worth of food for an average cat. You can find detailed preparation instructions on the respective product page.

We do not use any ingredients from India or China. The raw materials come from the USA, Belgium, and Germany.
